Today we are continuing our story about customized Japanese denim speaking about one more denim label Momotaro.

Japan Blue Group can definitely compete with worlds most established denim brands despite the fact it is not yet very famous outside Japan. This holding unites four companies and all the stages of jeans manufacture from their production to retail. Collect Inc. Subsidiary plans, produces and sells traditional and innovative denim. Rampu-Ya Ltd. Is a so-called national creative community specializing in sewing and coloring and manufacturing the most authentic denim in Okayama. The fabric is colored with indigo by hand according to ancient coloring technologies. Momotaro Jeans represents made to measure jeans. Japan Blue Group was established in Kurashiki, Okayama in 1996. The infrastructure of the company includes workshop Kurashiki Peeping Indigo, a sewing factory Momotaro, as well as a coloring and post-processing section called Akasaki. The coloring process in Rampu-Ya according to the ancient coloring technologies is based on collection of Polygonum tinctorum leaves, their drying and composting. A special raw material called sukomo is then prepared, this procedure takes 3 full months. Highly alkaline solution is made called lye; ashes of hard rock trees are dispensed in hot water. Then sukomo raw material is mixed with lye solution and lime in a maturing pit, after which drowned raw material sukomo is poured into dye-bath and a bit more lye solution is added. All this is being fermented and as a result the foamy mass is produced called Ai no hana (indigo flower). After the mass is stabilized it is ready for fabric coloring. It is worth mentioning that Rampu-Ya colors not only denim, but also other fabrics brought by the clients.

Denim for the most expensive tailor made jeans Momotaro is manufactured on wooden machines by hand. The fabric that is produced by this way is heavy, non-uniform, only 33 inches in width. Momotaro jeans are sewn on vintage Union Special machines.

Post-processing by Momotaro is also made by hand. For instance, jeans wash in dirty river water. However, enzyme wash and stone-washing are carried out by special machines.

Momotaro jeans collection includes four lines. High-end line is called Momotaro Jeans Gold Label. These jeans are made from the best materials by the best tailors according to traditional technologies. Copper Label is a more democratic brand, followed by Red Label and casual jeans brand Blue Label. G001-T jeans model by Gold Label have relaxed cut, are straight, high-waisted. However, the material they are made of is manufactured by hand on wooden machines and colored by natural indigo by hand. Such color is extremely long-lasting and gets additional shades as time goes by. Patch made of deer skin is engraved with Momotaro a popular character of Japanese folklore. Pockets lining is also colored with natural indigo. Jeans are made by hand for about a year starting from fabric coloring until ready-made denim creation is finished. G-003MB jeans model by Copper Label is made of 14,7-ounce sanforized Zimbabwe cotton denim. The patch is made of cow cantle skin on rivets. Jeans are finished setouti in flowing waters and are dried in the sun. MVPA01 customized jean model by Red Label is slim fit and low-waist. Indigo shade is characteristic for Momotaro jeans, the patch is made of lamb skin and the stitching is pink in color. A305-56 jeans by Blue Label are relaxed in fit and have back strap as well as thick loops. Jeans are made from 13-ounce selvedge denim.

The washing machine doesnt have to be your worst enemy when it comes to keeping your denim in semi -new condition. Here are a few tips to make sure your money isnt washed down the drain the next time you put your jeans through the spin cycle.
Wash your jeans as little as possible. Its just not necessary to wash your jeans every time you wear them. Unless you spill something on them or were doing some extra strenuous work and were sweating, dont wash them until they have had several wears.

Whenever you do need to put your jeans in the wash, make sure to turn them inside out.

Cold Water is your best friend when it comes to keeping the color of your jeans intact. For best results wash your jeans in cold water with very little or no detergent.

Another great way to keep your jeans that perfect shade, soak them in vinegar. Fill up your bathtub with cold water and a cup of vinegar or stick them in the washing machine on cold with cup vinegar. Let them soak for a couple hours or overnight then remove them from the bathtub or finish the washing cycle.

When using detergent, choose a delicate one made for darks such as Woolite or Cheer.

Dont dry denim. Drying not only causes jeans to fade a little faster, but it can ruin the way they fit. For the best results hang your jeans up and let them air dry or line dry. If you dont have time to let them dry on their own, put them in the dryer until they are just slightly damp. Take them out of the dryer and let them finish drying as you get ready.

Once your jeans are dry, hang them up and match the inner and outer seams as best as possible to help them maintain their form and prevent wrinkling.

If you need to iron your jeans do it while they are still a little damp. If your jeans are already use a spray bottle full of water to dampen them a bit.

If you buy jeans with embellishments such as rhinestones, embroidery, or metal studded designs, sometimes its just best to make a trip to the dry cleaner. They are well prepared to handle cleaning them without compromising the design. The cost of a visit to the dry cleaner is going to be less than going out and buying a new pair when the washing machine takes its toll on them.

One can make original and stylish jeans models playing with a combination of denim and different materials. For example, using silk.

To create jeans with elegant cuts youll need a pair of jeans, a piece of bright-colored silk, a sewing machine, contrast-colored thread, scissors, a piece of paper and a pencil. To transform your custom jeans into a stylish piece of clothes it will be enough to cut just one trouser leg. The second one can stay as it is.

Unseam the first trouser leg you are going to work with on the inner stitch. Then make a stencil for your elegant cuts. Draw some simple pattern on a piece of paper, it could be a flower or a star, or any other motif you want to decorate your jeans with. Cut out your ready pattern and transfer it to denim repeating the motif in the upper part of jeans trouser leg and under the knee so that the pattern overlays the outer seam of jeans.

Put a piece of silk with a front side to the back side of denim and fix it with pins. Sew down the motif on the front side of your subculture jeans three times: the first one on the contours of the picture and two times inside the pattern with the interval of about 1 centimeter.

On the inner part of the jeans cut out odd silk outside the borders of the outer stitching. Make cuts along the pattern lines on the outside between the stitches made. Cut short the edges of the cuts so that silk fabric can be seen in the cuts. Sew down the inner seam. Thats it!

And here is another cool idea of creating decorative back pocket of your jeans using a handkerchief! Youll need a handkerchief with a flower motif, jeans with back pockets, thread, a needle and scissors, hook & loop tape, decorative button and glue.

Carefully unseam one of the back pockets of your jeans on the stitching. However, you can avoid this procedure and decorate the pocket directly on jeans. After it cut off a decorative corner of your handkerchief so that its edge could be folded into the pocket and the junction point with denim is not visible. By the way, you must not necessary use a handkerchief for your embellishment, a piece of any flower-dotted fabric will do as well.

Glue a turned over stripe of handkerchief cloth to the inner side of the pocket. Thus you will create an illusion of a front pocket part which can be opened. Sew down a button to the edge of the handkerchief cloth taking denim fabric as well to make this illusion even more full. In fact the back pocket will be opened exactly the way it used to open before our embellishment. Now you have your customized jeans decorated with an original back pocket which will surely attract everybodys attention!

You can also use the same technique to create a fashionable purse just cut out the pocket of old jeans together with denim fabric and finish the seams in order to get a pocket-bag. Decorate the front part of it exactly as explained above. Sew down the hook & loop tape to the upper edge of the pocket. Thats it!
